We recently employed Nutherm Galway Ltd. to install a Stiebel Eltron air source heat pump for our new build. We have underfloor heating throughout and we are really delighted with the whole system. The house is always warm and the heat pump works away quietly and efficiently. We don’t even have to think about turning it on/off, it just works away silently whenever heat is required. There is always plenty of hot water, it is brilliant that we never have to remember to turn on the immersion for an hour anymore before we decide to give the kids a bath. In our previous house we had an oil boiler and we love that we don’t have to live with the smell of oil any more. It is great peace of mind to know that we are helping the environment because our heating system produces zero emissions and we are also using a 100% renewable energy electricity supplier to supplement the heat pump. We chose a Stiebel Eltron heat pump because we wanted to get a premium quality one that would be reliable and last the test of time. Our heat pump reverses the cycle in hot weather, which is amazing! During the heat wave last summer the heat pump automatically changed so that it cooled the house to a comfortable temperature! At the time other people were complaining about being unable to sleep at night from being too hot, but thanks to the heat pump keeping us comfortable we slept soundly. We think our heat pump is an attractive unit and were reassured that it won’t rust (because of it’s plastic casing) which is important as it is very visible in our back garden. We are very happy with the heating system that Nutherm Galway ltd. installed. They guided us through every stage of the process from the design of the system, heating zones, stats, etc. right through to commissioning of the system and making sure we knew how to operate all of the controls. They also installed a heat recovery system for us as well as completing the domestic plumbing. We hope to get them to install PV panels for us in the future too. It was reassuring to be able to employ one company to take care of all of our heating and plumbing requirements.

We contracted Joe Clancy and his team at Nutherm Galway Ltd. to design, supply, fit and commission the heating system and domestic plumping for our new home in Claregalway. We are delighted with the cost economy and reliability of the ground source heat pump and horizontal collector. During below minus five degree external temperatures one Winter, we estimated that the cost of comfortably heating our 4000 square feet home to be less than 20 euro per week. As we have young children engaged in sports, we find the heat exchanger for on demand 24-7 heating of showers very convenient and a great time saver. In the last six years, we have not incurred any major repairs and/or costs with our heating system. As children will sometimes test things to their limit, we have needed a few minor repairs to sink wastetraps and have been pleased with the timely response from Nutherm Galway Ltd . We also recommend the value for money of their annual maintenance services.
